Blooming Berries!
All the recent rain has done wonders for my garden. Sitting in it now, it looks like a pot jungle – all my flowers have taken and are doing wonderfully. A true array of pinks, reds and whites dotted around the garden in terracotta (or whatever I could find) pots, not to mention the blues of the forget-me-nots.
I think some of the success is due to Hubby’s installation of an automatic watering system. Certainly it rained a lot (and I mean a lot!) before we left for our holiday, but I believe last week was quite dry and yet the garden is thriving without me watching over it.
My strawberries are doing wonderfully. I truly didn’t expect to be able to eat them yet – when I left they were so tiny and white and now they are great big bright red, ripe berries beckoning me over to eat them! Yummy!

Wow, they look delicious! Anyone have a nice recipe for strawberry Pavlova?
mmm, they are delicious! Strawberry pavalova? Yummy! I would really like one of those!
Yeah to strawberries! La mamie has strawberries in her garden too and we’ve been lucky to have quite a harvest. I hope yours are as delicious as they look!
You’re lucky to have a mamie with strawberries
My Hubby’s don’t grow anything as far as I know… I’ve had some now and they are absolutely yummy! I’ve got a load more ripening on the plants now so I’m hoping to have quite a feast this weekend.
I’m jealous! You are several weeks ahead of the Loiret. We’re not courageous gardeners and have only a few tomato plants.
Dedene, don’t be jealous, go and buy yourself a few strawberry plants, plant them in pots or the ground in a sunny spot and ensure they’re watered. That’s all we did – 6 small plants to start with and now we have about 50 growing all over the garden (and it is a city garden so mainly decking and pots!). You won’t get much this year (we had about 6 last year which was the first year) but next year you should get plenty. Ours didn’t even die in the snow and frost and yet we didn’t do anything to them… There is hope for you! We have some tomato plants to – what type of tomatoes are you growing?
They are ADORABLE little strawberries! So cute! And my mouth is watering, too, at the thought of eating one.
