It’s been a busy and emotionally demanding week in the Piglet household. After my parents departure the house descended into a calm haven, almost too quiet if it hadn’t been broken from time to time by me moaning “I feel sick!”.
I have been feeling sick for the last eight weeks and had taken a positive pregnancy test, but after previous disappointing experiences Mr Piglet and I were in complete denial that I was really pregnant and things carried on as usual aside except for me smoking, drinking wine and eating what I want!
That was until Monday. On Monday, I woke up extremely anxious, all of my previous bad memories flooding into my body and it was in a state of despair and anticipation that Mr Piglet drove me to the hospital for my twelve week ultrasound.
This was to be the moment that everything would either stop and there would be no baby, or that we could rejoice in having made it this far!
As soon as the ultrasound began we shed tears of joy. There on the screen was our Bubbie, bouncing around, with two arms and two legs, without a care in the world completely oblivious to what was going in the outside world.
So folks, Mr & Mrs Piglet are pleased to announce that we are pregnant! Mini Piglet or Piggy is due in April next year and I will soon be entering my second trimester so I hope to be far more sociable in the coming weeks but just in case I’m not, voila the reason for my lack of posting and commenting elsewhere!

CONGRATULATIONS, wonderful news!!
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Piglet!
All the best
Keith
Well done, Mr and Mrs Piglet! Here’s to the patter of tiny trotters.
Oh Piglet! Congratulations!!!
Having held the hands and witnessed the disappointment of dear friends who’ve tried and not succeeded…only to try again AND succeed, I am so happy for you and Mr Piglet.
Such wonderful news. I wish you both the best!!!
PS: I’m giggling at merewoman’s “tiny trotters” comment.
Congratulations! So exciting!
Thank you all for your best wishes!!!
It’s very exciting times and I debated a bit before announcing it on here but the next few months of my life are going to revolve around pregnancy, arrival of little trotters so I might as well put it out there and what will be will be.
At least you’ll all know what is going on!!
Oh I am so pleased for you…that’s wonderful news. Congratulations. Your little one will be due around the same time as my second grandchild…exciting times…well done!
that’s really exciting for you as well Ayak! Our parents are over the moon at the prospect of their first grandchildren so I can only imagine you must be excited about a second grandchild!
Oh Piglet, this is such wonderful news. I can’t wait to follow your pregnancy. How are you feeling now, by the way?
Thanks Delana! I hope I won’t bore everyone here but having a baby is exciting but having it in France in a language that it isn’t my mother tongue is slightly daunting but at least I know the healthcare here is second to none!
At the moment I’m still being really sick and can’t eat veggies! I haven’t been very lucky I’m afraid. I’m just hoping now that things clear up as I approach my second trimester… fingers crossed!
YAY for you and Mr Piglet!! I am so happy you have shared your news here. I’m pulling for you for an entirely healthy and happy pregnancy.
So *that’s* what it takes to stop smoking, eh?
Yeah, well, no thanks. LOL. I’ve “been there, done that.” You could not pay me to do it again. Okay, well, actually you probably **could**, lol, but I really think my birthing years are OVER. Time to hand the baton off to the younger crowd!!
So if you blog about it, does that mean we get to fill the comments with all kinds of stories (some horror ones, some not) and advice about pregnancy, childbirth, and child rearing. If so, YIPPIE! Sign me up. Oh wait. I already am signed up.
Bring on the preggo blogs, and photos of your growing tummy please. I also want to know how French Ob Gyns are, not that you will have comparison, but I just would like to know what the experience is like in France.
Yay!!
Be well, dear Piglet, and hope things are feeling more energetic and less nauseous really soon.
Thanks Karin! I’m really looking forward to 2nd trimester… BRING IT ON!!!
So *that’s* what it takes to stop smoking, eh? erhhh, yeah, its amazing what one can achieve if you put your mind to it! I think it was probably easier though as I’m feeling sick all the time and just the smell of a fag makes me gag… I’m now hoping Hubby will quit, PDQ!!
So if you blog about it, does that mean we get to fill the comments with all kinds of stories (some horror ones, some not) and advice about pregnancy, childbirth, and child rearing. If so, YIPPIE! Yes, I would love to have everyone’s input! I don’t know many people who are having kids right now so would love to hear about other people’s experiences. HORROR stories are fine so long as you they are NOT GORY Remember I have to go through all the painful bits yet and this is my first so I am very naive!!!
I haven’t got any tummy photos as yet although it has grown
so thanks for reminding me
Thankfully no weight gained as yet although I haven’t dared get on the scales since last weekend
Do I dare?
Congratulations, Piglet this the most extrordinary thing in a woman’s life ! I am so glad for you ! Such a glorious time is this one, dear ! There is always a wonderful thing to hear about a new child- you know, children decide when it’s time to appear in their parent’s life . Now you just have to help him a bit and eveything will be perfect
Thanks Rosabell, nature certainly did decide on this one I can tell you!
AAAH! What exciting news! I am so happy for you and Mr. Piglet! I can’t wait to read all about it
Thanks Amber
I look forward to reading all about your new arrival soon too
Congratulations.
You might be pleased to know of an article I saw in ‘The Telegraph’ which reckons the odd glass of wine does no harm in pregnancy….I await article following suggesting same for Cuban cigars, etc.,,
but wonderful news all the same!
Take care of your self.
Thanks Fly! LOL for the article, I read the same one! I have found a way to enjoy wine without drinking it… I dip my tongue in it or smear it under my nose… then I wash out with water! Its been easier to avoid than expected but I think the end of year Fetes will be hard and I’ve missed out on some really good bottles
but it’s all for the good cause!!
Congratulations! What exciting news!
Many thanks!
