So here we are, a date that I thought I would never make – 40 weeks! It’s 40 weeks today that Baby Piglet has been growing inside my tummy and despite numerous early warnings by the medical professionals that I’d give birth early and enforced bed rest, we’re still here!
If I was in the UK or the US, today would be my due day, but I’m not, I’m in Franceand my official French due date isn’t until the 28th (Thursday). Until then, none of the French medical professionals will speak to me about serving her with an eviction notice, yet in the meantime my tummy continues to grow and I get more and more uncomfortable:
I was pretty darn sure that I’d have had her by Easter, so much so that I’d bought a cute bunny hat for Easter photos!
Now it’s just a question of waiting and hoping. If she’s not here by Thursday then I’ll be back to the hospital to talk about getting induced as I’m already showing some signs of pre-eclampsia and under surveillance for that.
Come on Baby Piglet! We’re all here waiting for you! Xxx
Ps. The house situation hasn’t moved much over the past week due to the holidays, hoping for an update tomorrow.

Good heavens! What a gigantic bump!
Oh my goodness, I hope she wants to be born REALLY soon! You poor thing!
doesn’t seem that she’s in a rush at all… False labour today!
Come on, Baby Piglet, play the game, now!
Fair play and all that…so give Mummy a break.
She had a go this last night but now it seems as if it’s my body that’s not playing game
So sorry she hasn’t come. I know how it feels to be in that situation. As you said though, in the states it is another story. I was able to evict all my previous three. The good thing though is by doing it naturally if she does come on her own in the next couple days you are less likely to have a c-section due to the pitocin.
tick tock the clock is ticking! I hope she comes soon as I don’t want a c/section & apparently right now I’m not ripe so inducing me would be a big fat waste of time!
You are taking me down memory lane…my first born waited until week 42 to make her appearance. I had to be induced. I hope your baby Piglet decides to come soon. You look great!
Oh Good Grief !! You should have been induced last week !
The great thing is how fast the skin/belly all goes back to where it was before .. especially if you are nursing.
I gained 40 lbs with my second baby and thought I would never be the same again but it does happen !
I check here every day, hoping there is a little Piglet in the house, tell your husband to take you for a long drive on a bumpy road and eat something spicy lol..
I am out of Old Wives Tales now.
Wishing you the Best of Luck … fast and easy delivery too .. un beso. Candice
If she wanted to wait till May 2nd, I wouldn’t blame her
She’s a taurus either way and that’s a good sign!!
Your bump is really impressive. I don’t know how you can move without falling forward! Seeing you upright like that, i’m really not surprised at all you’ve had so many problems with your back since you are still so skinny! When I could finally sleep on my stomach again I was in heaven.. I don’t miss my bump at all. If you can stand it, try to get out and walk and see if you can’t motivate her to come. Or, there’s always what worked for me…
Oh Piglet I know just how you feel. My daughter’s 40 weeks is today..and in spite of a few false alarms since Friday the baby still refuses to put in an appearance. Won’t be long now! xxx
Best Wishes for an easy delivery. Too late now but you just agree a date when you get a puppy!
Well my dear girl if thats all baby, she is a whopper I reckon!! xx
You look great mama!
I promise you won’t be pregnant forever. THAT I can guarantee. I know everyday seems like a lifetime, but it really isn’t that long considering you have now been pregnant for 40 weeks (280 days) … another few more days isn’t going to change much in the grand scheme of things.
I was induced. I wish I wasn’t. I was so scared. I was lucky, it went smoothly but any medical intervention has risks so … if you can hang in there do …
I love that you are 368 days behind me in your adventure!
Let’s see if babypiglet wants to be birthday buddies with BiP (tomorrow) xxxx
Your mom in Portugal sent me your blog link, and I gather she’s on her way to you! Sheesh, that doesn’t sound or look fun. Ouch.
But I look forward to the ride, assuming you’ll have time to continue to blog. I’ve signed up for updates. Greatly admire your mother’s creativity and writing; looking forward to perusing back-posts of yours, too!
