A huge thank you to everyone who commented on yesterdays post – I have just seen the number of comments and emails and am overwhelmed. I want to say thank you now as Baby Piglet won’t let me get on my PC and until she does I cannot reply individually but I will as soon as I can.
The good news is that the hospital visit went well and they confirmed that nothing else had been “forgotten”.
The bad news is really secondary as Baby Piglet + my health are priority, but the hospital wouldn’t confirm in writing my visit on Friday. When I asked for a copy of my medical file there were no notes covering my visit at all! I did get the name of the Dr we saw on Friday so will be calling tomorrow.
Finally, some news I had forgotten to share as it has taken back seat to everything else: Mr Piglet and I will finally become owners of the country house we’ve been trying to purchase since the beginning of the year! The signature is set for tomorrow although we won’t be there and our move in date won’t be straightaway as I’m not fit enough but we hope to be in beginning of June (ish)!!! Finally!

Congratulations that is so exciting. At least that is one thing that you will not have to worry about. Here is to a speedy recovery, so that you can just enjoy being a mother of a beautiful baby girl.
Ahhh! Your luck has turned ! You will heal quickly now, you and baby piglet will thrive and in no time you will be tucking her into bed in her own room in your own home. I am so happy for you ! I had to stop a minute and remember the house .. if you ever feel like it, maybe you could post the photos again ?
And just a tiny blurry photo of a certain baby piglet would thrill me ..
I am so glad to read that good things are happening, this is just great !
muchas besos and a tiny one for the little mademoiselle ~
Oh brilliant news that you have got the house at last. So pleased that you can see a happy family home finally and good things are ahead.
I’m so glad you’ve finally got your house…it was beginning to sound like Brigadoon…visible only once every goodness knows how many years.
Not surprised at the lack of medical file, though.
The hospital should have a mediator…if you get more problems, go for him/her asap. You may not get he file you want but your visit and its purpose will be logged and the mediator is obliged to make an enquiry.
I was so very sorry to hear about the terrible ordeal and suffering you endured due to the medical staff’s oversight and negligence. I’d like to think you could sue and recover some monetary damage but this is France and this is much harder to do there than in US. Anyway, I am happy to hear you should be on the mend. Congratulations about your new home.
At last some good news for you! The lack of medical notes is just another indicator that all is not well in the much-vaunted French health service.
I am so sorry to read what you have been going through – I have just been catching up. I know that handing in a complaint/suing is very daunting just right after giving birth, having a little one to look after and not having lots of strength – but if you want to do it as you said, don’t leave too much time doing it. Ask for copies of your maternity notes straight away, go through them and check if what’s been noted is right. It only gets harder the longer you wait – it was in my case.
Lots of love, hugs all round and chin up. Now the fun part can begin! xx
