Hello! It’s been a while but boy have we been busy settling into our new home and adapting to life with Baby Piglet. I’ve barely had a chance to get behind a PC and my online time has been limited to Twitter and Facebook on my crackberry whilst I’ve been nursing.
Everything’s going hunky dory and Baby Piglet is proving to be an absolute delight except for when she has a growth spurt and then she turns into a milk monster. I’ve struggled to keep up with her but things are getting better as I get better (yes, I’m still not quite recovered).
Here’s a wee pic of Baby Piglet yesterday in her summer dress that her Gramps bought her:
Hasn’t she changed? I get quite nostalgic already when I look back at the photos and see how much she has changed and she’s only 7 weeks old!
The house is great. We felt at home immediately and whilst country life is taking some getting used to (more of that soon), we are so pleased to be here despite everything we had to go through to get here.
It took a while to get rid of the old owners and this Wednesday we were finally able to celebrate them vacating the workshop and leaving the property forever. We cracked open a bottle of bubbly after Baby Piglet had gone to bed and I was drunk within a few sips.
Its been great to get lots of help and sit back and watch as friends and family unpack our stuff and help us settle as I look after Baby Piglet and rest. The only downside is that Mr Piglet has discovered the full extent of my hoarding. The garage is full of boxes and the bedroom wardrobes are full and yet there’s still boxes everywhere and they’re all full of my stuff!
I’d managed to hide my hoarding during the packing as my Mum packed most of my clothes (including all the ones that had never been worn and still had tags on) but she’s not arriving until Tuesday and my French family already unpacked them!
I’ve been well and truly caught out and have promised to sell lots of stuff at a car boot or online as soon as possible. I actually felt embarrassed as they unpacked a box of clothes I wore 13 years ago (all in excellent condition though). Now that I’m a Mum I don’t want to hang on to this stuff and am finally ready to leave it behind me. Mr Piglet will be delighted I’m sure!

She’s the absolute picture of a happy healthy baby. What a sweetie!
Thank you Sarah. Things have been easier with her the last few days and I’ve actually started to be able to do things (like blog and work). In fact, I’m wondering right now WHEN she will wake up again!
Geez Piglet! What’s the matter with you? No time to blog? Isn’t it amazing how much time little babies take? It always amazed me how this little, tiny, beautiful creature could occupy so much time and cause me to be in my PJ’s until sometime after lunch! I’m glad you’re feeling better and settled in. Put the boot sale on hold until your 100 % and she’s …I don’t know….10! She’s absolutely beautiful in her strawberry dress. Good job, mamam.
Hi Delana! I always wondered what stay at home Mums did and now I have a whole new respect for them! I actually think it’s a harder job than actually going to work!
Since we’ve moved into the new house I’ve been caring for Baby Piglet all the time as Hubby has been busy setting up house. Someday’s I’ve been in PJ’s all day, one day I even managed to put my PJ top back on after my shower and went out wearing it! Things are starting to get better as she sleeps more, but now as soon as she goes to sleep I jump in the shower.
I have learned to become much more organised and days when I’m up at 5 am are frequent unfortunately.
I’ve suggested the boot sale for next summer, in the meantime I may try and offload some stuf on the net, we’ll see.
I don’t think Mr P has anything to complain about; we have been in this house for 7 years and the house before that for 5 years and there are boxes in our barn labeled (by hubby) as ‘Jacqui’s Not Rubbish’ from when we moved 12 years ago – and yes we did pay to store them and ship them to France! Baby P is looking gorgeous, happy and healthy and sleep will come!
Hi Jacqui! I think I have some boxes like that too – they’ve been shipped from France to the UK and then from the UK back to France….. shhhh don’t tell Mr Piglet though
Your hubby sounds very understanding with his labels, I’m sure Mr Piglet would have put HRH – Rubbish!
Oh Baby Piglet is the cutest little girl, and that dress is just made for her! Congratulations again – I’m glad everything came together with the move and of course, your beautiful new family addition.
Thanks Milla. Her Grandpa chose the dress for her whilst she was still in my tummy – he chose well didn’t he? We just love the baby clothes in Gap in our family, so cute!
Yes my “baby” Piglet I know you are a “hoarder” I packed most of it into the boxes..was that 50 or 60 tops and 70 pairs of shoes? LOL
She has changed SO much I will be video everything; even her next pooh missile!
Grandma PiPx
Just in the size 10 stuff Mum, I emptied a few of those boxes the other day and then gave up… they’re still here waiting for you to unpack now
As for the shoes well I will never give up on them, they are the only item of clothing that are faithful (okay, along with handbags) no matter what your size…
I had two missiles over the weekend… I’ll ask her to save some for you!
Yay! What a gorgeous pic! Wow she has grown!
She has hasn’t she!? Wait until you next see and here her in action
The baby looks fantastic, congratulations for having such an absolute joy ! And the dress suits her and is completely adorable ! All the best !
Thanks Rosabell. I wish we had bought the dress in size 6 months and 1 year as well so she could wear it longer
She is getting so big! Adorable! Good luck in shorting through all your clothes. I think you will feel a sense of freedom once you do.
It’s scary how fast she is growing. Even her hair is growing fast!
I think I’ll be sorting through my clothes FOREVER! I managed to give a bag of them away at the weekend though. 1 bag down probably 100 more to get rid of!
Don’t feel bad, i’m a hoarder too! I hoard american food, and we almost never get around to eating it before it expires and I throw it out. What a waste!
Just wanted to say i’m happy to hear everything is going so well! She is so beautiful. I really do hope that one day we can meet and our little ones will play together. I’m pretty sure V will fall in love at first sight.. in that case, maybe we should meet while Mr. Piglet isn’t around
Keep taking good care of yourself and resting up!
xx
Hi Amber! Thanks for stopping by. I love buying English/Amercian food and then like you don’t eat most of it. Eversince the UK shop opened in Lyon I have been hoarding like crazy!
I do hope we can meet one day. Once my brother has his baby I will be making more frequent trips to the UK and I’m sure some of them will be in the car or on the Eurostar with stops in your part of France. I will let you know.
Beautiful baby, and seven weeks already?!
Hoarding: surely resonates with me. I have dress-for-success wool suits decades old that I’ll surely not wear in Alaska. But what if…did you do that? What if we move and …
Cheers from a fan of your Mum’s blog!
Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words
I think she’s beautiful but then I’m biaised
Your suit is vintage now like a lot of my clothes (I’ve decided anything over 10 years is vintage) and should not be thrown away! It will be all the rage soon and you’ll be storing a collectors item so it doesn’t matter if you never wear it again!
Ahhhhhh so lovely to read your news and to hear you are sterling in nicely. Things are working out nicely. Baby piglet is looking well and i Love her style already. See you soon xx
Thanks Claire xxx
She is a beautiful little piglet. I read all about her on “Grandma Piglet’s” blog. Congratulations. You have had a lot of change over the past few months; First a baby and now a new home! It’s a good idea to let go of the old (clothing) and bring on the new!
Hi, thanks so much for coming by and for your kind words. The clothing is going, slowly but surely although I am hanging on to some items for sentimental value and dressing up potential for baby Piglet
She is just beautiful .. and so bright eyed and aware !
Tell the relatives you are saving those outfits for her when she wants to wear Vintage clothing !
I am so glad to hear how you are loving your new home and that it feels so much like home.. excellent ! And you have people who love you and are helping you through these days .. wonderful !
I look forward to more photos, of the little piglet as well as the house and gardens and I want to hear about Life in the Country .. every once in a while, we consider this ..
Hi Candice
There will be plenty more photos!!
Yes, baby Piglet is certainly VERY aware, she’s developing a little personality already and I can tell when she’s grumpy, when she’s having me on and when she’s in the mood to play. She even tells us off now! I think we’re going to have to be careful
Think carefully before moving to the country – it smells of cow pat here a bit and when you’re more used to Chanel 5 and car pollution in the city it’s a shock to the nostrils!
Your daughter is such a cutie! Can’t wait to see more pics of her!
Thank you
So glad that the trials of the last four/three/two months are behind you. The little light at the end of the tunnel did not turn out to be an oncoming train and you have got a lovely family in the country. She sure is sweet in the strawberry outfit.
Hi Lesley, thanks for stopping by and for your kind comment
The last few months seem like a nightmare I had. Now we’re here I cannot believe that we actually lived them. They’re like a distant memory already or a TV programme I watched. Thank goodness is all I can say!
You have a beautiful baby. I am glad to “hear” you are doing better and getting settled into your new home.
Thanks Michel. I can’t stop looking at her and thinking how beautiful she is. In fact, I’ve just crept into her bedroom to take a peek at her sleeping – she is so cute when sleeping but I daren’t take a pic in case I wake her up.
She is sooo cute
Congrats on your new home!!
