The French love to talk about weather too, or at least they do in our corner of Provence. Everywhere we went the last week of May, they were lamenting about the unseasonable weather and that it’s not normal, Thankfully, the first 10 days of June were much nicer. Have a good day.

It might be British of you to talk about the weather, but very French to talk about the temperature ‘plummeting to 18 degrees and putting the fire on!

People living in Britain would probably look at Thursday 20th and say something like ‘thank goodness we go back to decent temperatures soon, the high summer heatwave was unbearable’

I dont understand the masculin and feminine either Michael and to be honest I gave up a long time ago. If I get it right now it’s because, like you, I’ve memorised/heard it so many times.

I guesd whats embarrassing about my mistake is that its was in english and its almost as if I have forgotten how to speak English!

When I read the title to your post, I immediately wondered what tale you were going to relate about that corner of the house? When I speak French, French people are always correcting my use of masculine and feminine which has never made any sense to me. But slowly, but surely although it doesn’t make anymore sense now than it ever did, I am memorizing what the word is.
